Coming Home is Possible

Welcome, I'm Shelby! My husband Trey and I own Prairie Queen Ag in Monroe City, Missouri. When I graduated from Mizzou, I never imagined there would be a career I loved back home. But in 2016, that opportunity knocked when I was recruited to Pioneer Seed as a sales representative. I now get to live the dream of owning a business & working with the farmers I grew up knowing. I love my hometown and have worked to show it off. From the name of my business (Monroe City is known as 'The Queen of the Prairie') to re-purposing a vacant concrete plant into my warehouse/office.

In Fall 2021, my husband took the leap and joined the operation full time. Since then, we've added commercial drone application and sales to our business model. It's been so fun to innovate and bring new technology to our farmers. We can't wait to see what's in store and better serve our growing customer base!

Our Fixer Upper

I often get questions about my remodel, so I wanted to share a few photos of the before & after. There are a few projects to go, but the worst is over! The building was vacant for 10 years, so it became a haven for graffiti, animals and peeling paint.
